Service Providers collaborating toward better supports for families.

  • Families do not know what services are available.
  • Service providers are not aware of all services and programs available.
  • Services are fragmented.
  • Service gaps exist.
  • FCSS and CFSA are not communicating regularly about trends, gaps in service and needs.
  • Often partners meet around funding opportunities and the stop when funding is spent or the project is complete.

Sturgeon County/Fort Saskatchewan FCSS and CFSA and other family focused human service provider representatives will meet regularly. The purpose of the meeting will be to; exchange information, identify needs and service gaps, strategize approaches to meet the needs, implement strategies and evaluate.

  • Change is constant. Communities, people, services and opportunities are always changing. Regular meetings ensure members are up to date.
  • A cooperative approach fits within the province’s business plan.
  • Community development research demonstrates that community engagement leads to more sustainable results.
  • Staying current assists individual providers in gaining new perspectives.
  • Creativity is enhanced through group process, synergies are evident and expanded.
  • Pooling resources results in more efficient use of limited resources.

  • Service providers work together more effectively.
  • Resources will be used more effectively.
  • A more proactive approach to planning family/children services exists in the region.
  • Families and children in the Sturgeon County/Fort Saskatchewan Region receive the most effective service possible.

  • Regular meetings (minimally quarterly). Come prepared to share information, wisdom and experience.
  • Members demonstrate commitment to the partnership and to achievement of the outcomes.
